Today we celebrated Richard's 73rd birthday with 2 longstanding friends. When R isn't taking photos, he cooks...like a dream. Today's protracted lunch was as follows: Champagne and nibbles, Carpaccio de boeuf with sucrines and parmiano reggiano, Crunchy spiced salmon steaks, Sausage and fruit medley with saffron rice, Selection of cheeses, Baked bananas flavoured with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and brown sugar and drizzled with Armagnac, served with crème fraîche. Liquid accompaniments included Gerwertztraminer, Australian Shiraz, Vieux Cognac and coffee.

I hope there were a few friends to share this delicious menu with! Hard to go through the lot on your own! Happy birthday, Richard! (No NZ wine?)!!

A belated very happy birthday to Richard. I did not check 365 over the weekend, as I was traveling. It seems it was a wonderful evening, however! Fav for the photo and the menu as well...
