Hinge & Bracket...unopened.

This shutter has never been seen open on our watch...a permanent residence of 17 years and 12 more before that when Vignouse was our holiday home. The house itself is on a small road, not unlike our lane, across the field where there are 5 more houses. For reasons unknown, electricity has never been connected, the house has never been inhabited and even the Mairie (Town Hall) has been unable to trace the owner.

I don't find it sad (except in the context of the story). It's truly amazing how a picture like this changes when viewed on a black background where the white spatters stand out and the greens glow.
