In reserve... by s4sayer

In reserve...

One of the advantages of living in an old house is the amount of space, not necessarily used for its original purpose, yet providing place to 'put things'. Such space is known as 'the reserve'. Like many/most of us who have space, the more we have the more we can't bring ourselves to part with the extraneous items that occupy it.

I went to put something (bona fide) back and saw these shelves, beautifully lit by the skylight. Jars, waiting to contain preserves, preserves awaiting consumption, a retired coffee jug and a yoghurt maker...and much more. Fess up! What have you got squirreled away?

On B, to complement the limited light;-)
Nice shot

Great capture of light to see all of the shapes, colors...It's always nice to have that little extra space :).

Wonderful capture of the light. My own 'squirreled spots' are much more 'free form' at least until something falls over :):) Best on black, most definitely.

Too much planning a clean out this summer.

Oh, I'm finding stuff everyday as I unload a cupboard or closet or drawer to move over to the "new" house. Too many hidey-holes and I can't part with a lot of it.

Magical light! And I love your description. So true. I have far too much junk squirreled away, but I have realised this and am starting to make more effort to prune it - mostly so that my daughter doesn't have to do the unpleasant task of sorting it out one day when I no longer can.
