Raining crisps... by s4sayer

Raining crisps...

Estimated journey from La Gacilly to Chinon was 3 hours. It took 4. After choosing our pitch etc., we set out to do some food shopping and have a wander around C, a favoured haunt for many years. Whilst R sourced supper ingredients, M & I checked out a couple of my favourite shops selling beautiful house items and knitwear, whilst the other has a practical and attractive selection of everyday clothing. To my chagrin the first port of call was in the throes of serious reductions...and the second was already closed. On R's beat the 5*bakery was closed...for 2 weeks holiday. However, both (excellent) butchers were open. Carrefour saved the day for the missing essentials and we enjoyed a pick-me-up at a pavement bar, overlooked by Rabelais' statue.

An aperitif with raining crisps seemed the most appropriate sequel.

Well I think I shall have to try this. It seems very efficient! Enjoy!

I hope your favorite stores were only closed for the day and not for good. Looks like a tasty supper. Have fun on your trip.

Dear story!

By 'pitch' - do you mean you are putting up a tent? This looks good - I love chips but hardly ever eat them!

The most important ingredient is on the table beside him - camera!

A Man who is serious about his chips. Wonderful capture. Travel woes, have a chip and a sip, things will be better soon.

@maggiemae
Pitch, in this context is not for a tent, yet denotes a space where one can park car, caravan, camper van and/or pitch a tent and stay for a stated period.
