Treasure,16 Mum and l, Ballycastle, Northern lreland 1950/51?

This was taken at Ballycastle in Northern Ireland where Dad’s brother, Bernard had the Marine Hotel. Dad & Bernard introduced 2 Centre Holidays...1 week at the Bay Hotel in Ramsey, Isle of Man and 1 week at the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland.

They were hugely popular and many guests visited year on year. There were daily coach trips at both venues, evening dancing, whist drives, full board and easy walking to the local shops. Both hotels were directly opposite the beach and the sea.

l suspect these holidays were popular not only with couples, but also with those who had been widowed, perhaps from WW2. Many of our guests worked in factory mills in the NW of England where factories closed for 2 weeks holiday. Dad & Uncle Bernard had tapped a new holiday formula!
I love the face you're making, almost as if to say, "what are you doing?".

You were so cute Margo. I remember those hair styles, both yours and your Mum's. My Mum and I had the same styles.
