How much wood would a wood stocker stock if a wood stocker could stock wood?
I moved and stacked this wood yesterday and today added more. The current stock is now almost twice the amount of what you see here...and has been covered with a bâche to keep it dry until we need it.
Our stock of wood is currently robust, due largely to the continued mild weather we've enjoyed since February 2018. Global Warming seems to be alive and far too well for farmers and growers. At least it's a change of topic from...dare I say it...Brexit?*!

There's almost as much again since I took this shot. I love symmetry and whenever I have the chance to do it, I revel in it. For me, placing the wood so that each log complements its neighbour is key to the harmony and balance of the wood stacked. Call me manic...or anything else...it doesn't bother me. I revel in it being a tight fit, enough air for ventilation/further drying of the wood and the sheer joy of using Nature's resources.
For interest, this will supply one of our two stoves for about two months... or one month if we light them both.
No...I’m the woodsman when it comes to stocking it. I enjoy it.
