Mushrooms...not for human consumption!

Whilst Unsure what these are called, I strongly believe that they're not for for human consumption. How do I know? There are many perfect specimens like these...and no one has gathered any.

You know how to view this.
I went looking for these in the forest but found only a few measly specimens - you fared rather better.

They are Fly Agaric toadstools and are highly toxic - even a fly landing on one won't survive... so look but don't touch.

stunning - gosh you wouldn't want a curious pup nosing around them. Lovely shot

Yes, fly agaric or amanita muscaria, highly toxic and with psychotic properties. Seem to be a lot about this year. Lovely shot. Fav!

And very elusive if I'm around!! Dead jealous of your lovely shot!!!

@quietpurplehaze There are some brave souls who boil them for an hour which, apparently, drives off the toxins but leaves the hallucinogenic properties intact.

The difference between toadstools and mushrooms is not always clear - but spots like these indicate beware!

@vignouse

Horrendous. Having bipolar disorder, I have had hospitalized episodes of psychosis in the past (have now been well for 17 years) and I would not wish it on my worst enemy.
