Mistletoe by s4sayer

Mistletoe

Mistletoe costs a small fortune in the UK... and due to its seasonal appeal...likely everywhere...except perhaps in France? Trees in our neck of the woods are festooned with Mistletoe. Much of it is exported to the UK where astronomical prices are demanded for this 5* weed
I'm amazed it's imported here Margo, there's so much of it down here in the south of England at the moment!! Selling £2 A sprig!! Almost the price of saffron per ounce

I like the way we have very different takes on the same scene....

Great capture of the trees' silhouettes against the lovely sky...I've been watching Hallmark's Christmas movies and love that at the end of the movies the starring couples inevitably end up under mistletoe :) or kiss for the first time near a Christmas tree :).

Serenity and beauty. Lovely silhouettes and sky.

oh that's truly incredible - here it is an invasive weed that kills our trees! something that is important in one place doesn't behave the same in another. great shot

@koalagardens Oh mistletoe kills the trees here too and then dies itself. I photographed this same scene a couple of weeks ago - https://365project.org/vignouse/365/2019-11-12 - and what you see is all that is left of a plantation of 144 trees.

Lots of mistletoe in our trees here. I had no idea it was expensive to buy because I've never looked for it. But now that you mention it, I'm not sure I've seen the live stuff for sale.
