Relief...from gloom and doom

Our bank of snowdrops, several varieties...have been and gone. Japanese Knotweed has launched its invasive shoots...again. Meanwhile, several varieties of ‘daffodils’ are strutting their stuff. A battle for supremacy? JK...no contest! Their growth makes an effective, not unattractive sound and visual barrier in the lane, facing the house. Their growth is meteoric; more shots in due course.

Perhaps on black?
Meteoric growth? You betcha - at the peak of their growth cycle they grow 20cm a day....

Just as well you're not hoping to sell! Did you know it is edible and said to taste like rhubarb, full of health benefits and used as a treatment for respiratory diseases brought on, no doubt, by the stress of having it in your garden!

Interesting to see what @janturnbull says about it! A bit like ginger - can take over a plot quickly!

It's nice how they spread out on their own, requiring little care. These are often seen in what looks like the woods around here when actually they are old home sites and the home is long gone.
