This used to be called a Baltimore Oriole. I don't know why the name changed, but it's the same bird. To keep them coming all summer, feed them watered down grape jelly.

I didn't know they changed the name - I still all them Baltimore Orioles! And I didn't know they drank nectar - is it like the nectar for hummingbirds?

WOW. I didn't know what they looked like. I thought they were black with red stripes on their wings. Great capture. And I thought they liked orange slices! thanks for the tips!

Ah, great tip of the watered down grape jelly, I was using straight jelly.

beautiful bird, great info! i keep saying i'm going to try special food to attract them to our deck, but never get around to it. your pic is great inspiration. i even have some grape jelly from a couple of years ago, i could use.
