"I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason." - Hugo Cabret
If you've seen the film then you'll know what the key is for. If not, then you should see it as it's a magical bit of storytelling. A story about a boy, a clockwork automaton and well, I won't spoil it. Don't be fooled by the posters. It's not simply a movie for kids. This clock is a quarterly chimer that sits on my mantlepiece and I thought this was an ideal opportunity to photograph the internal workings. The heart -shaped key is from the movie. http://www.lovefilm.com/interviews/Martin-Scorsese-Hugo?cid=lfaffimdbhpinterview&promotion_code=AMZLF6
Dying to go and see Hugo (do I need to find a child or can I just go?!) ANd then I'm going to cry all the way through War Horse @happypat - the trailers were bad enough!
