Hairy Woodpecker.

"New yummy suet...........just what I wanted."
Two hairy woodpeckers showed up around here about 3 days ago and are hanging around. They are in competition with the Downy woodpeckers we have. But these guys are bigger so they win out. Thanks for dropping by my project. 11/17,18,19PP

@tara11 The trick I've found is to place feeders, suet, etc. closer to my house windows and get a big ass lens. Then you can always crop it and make it look even bigger. Easy steps to more shooting fun. LOL

I love woodpeckers. I have one around here I have been getting shots of. I'm hoping this weekend I can get out with my big lens and get some better shots of him. This is great.

So close! Fav! I have a suet block to put up as soon as hubby helps me out up my poles and hooks for the feeders!

Brilliant shot, great close up! Lucky you seeing them close enough to capture on camera! I love hearing their tapping resonating through the Dingle, our local nature reserve, but we never see them! Fav
