The train

This train goes thru our village every few days. It is going by the old train station (now apartments) on the way to pick up garbage from Otis Air force Base. I like to hear it blow the whistle. Past the houses is a tennis court and small playground, then the beach and water. Cleaned some more in my basement and found all my supplies for making pot holders. So I started making pot holders again today because I ran out of puzzles. Guess I know what everybody is going to get for Christmas this year !!!!!
I almost didn't see it at first- good catch!

A train whistle can be comforting in times like these....home made pot holders would be a welcome gift....I am sorting my old photos to see what I cane use now....

I grew up within hearing distance of freight trains going across Illinois plains. I find the sound very comforting.

Lovely shot I too find the sound of a train comforting. As kids we used to go to the farm, which was a two day train ride. It was such a great feeling to sleep on the train.

My digital scrapbooking keeps me busy and because it is digital I never run out of supplies. And the reorganizing of my main floor continues. Maybe for once, I am happy I didn't do it earlier.

Great capture of this scene. There’s plenty to clean out here. I’m having a hard time getting motivated to do more, though!

@merrelyn Yes it does. In the olden days the trains brought people from Boston down to the Cape to be in their "Cottages" for the summer. Runs thru all the villages in the town of Bourne really. President Grover Cleveland had a house, "cottage", in the village of Gray Gables and he had his own little station. He used to come down for the fishing.
