Drove myself around the bend today trying different types of high speed photography! After at least 120 or so pictures I have a sort of water crown! Why do we put ourselves through this, I ask myself?
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
@happysnapper65 I place a tray over the kitchen sink, then place a shallow clear glass or plastic dish onto the tray. Dish is positioned under the tap which is dripping slowly. Camera is on a tripod and I used a remote shutter. I don't have an off camera flash so I make do with the horrid pop up one. I use a fast shutter speed. There are quite a number of tutorials available on youtube that show different set ups. Worth having a look at if you have some time.
WEll done with the background. And the water crown looks good. You know, they make motion activated sensors for people that do these all the time. They aren't just firing on their own and guessing --- the sensor does it for them. So, well done!
@salza Hi Sally - as you know, we are paired for Get Pushed week 105: I've enjoyed looking through your postings for this year - you have done some varied and impressive work. Something that I haven't seen featured this year though is an urban scene, so my challenge to you this week is to capture an urban scene of your choice, but with some sort of action in it. Are you up for this?
i like your water crown, it has a sort of round bottom, like a bowl. how'd you do that? i only use my camera's flash when i shoot water crown and a lamp on one side to make up for the lack of off camera flash. i like how this looks!
@summerfield I think it is more by good luck than anything else! I have no idea why it seems to have a rounded bottom. The dish is only about 2cm deep, maybe that has something to do with it :-)
Haha, this morning I set up for capturing smoke trails... and after about two hours, gave up!!!
because it's fun!?
wonderful capture, almost tempted to do this again soon... almost...
