in the philippines, a few hundred kilometres south of manila, there is a live volcano, used to be touted as the smallest in the world but quite powerful, named taal. when i was a teenager it exploded and we could see the cloud/smoke it spewed from where we lived in manila. it is within a crater of a bigger but dormant volcano. fancy that, i wonder if the etymology of the words are the same. nice capture, sally.
