Cherries

I went cherry picking today, the trees are so laden with friut that some of the branches are hanging on the ground!

They look delicious! I was never a huge fan of cherries until a few years ago and then all of a sudden I really liked them! My daughter-in-law makes a wonderful cherry jam (low sugar too!).

@olivetreeann I am going to look up some jam recipes. Now I also have a whole lot of peaches that I was given.

@salza This past summer I had another taste bud gear switch when we had some extra peaches and I ended up just slicing them on vanilla ice cream. I usually prefer Mint Chip, but for some reason, the peaches and vanilla just hit the spot! I also like peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Well, now I have peaches on my mind!

@olivetreeann Ann we have thought about those uses but I have been given about 5kg (10/11 pounds) of peaches! So even after giving some away there's still a lot more than we can eat before they are over ripe and past their best. Hence the need to bottle them.
