We have been without electricity for nearly 24 hours due to cable theft. Not a very productive day at all! Thankfully the weather was a lot cooler so food in the fridge and freezer didn't spoil.
I will hopefully catch up with everyone over the next few days.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
that's awful, sally. and oh! missing 365! kidding. but seriously aside, yes, that is just the most awful thing, to be without electricity. there's much you can do during the day but not at night. hope the thieves are caught. that is rampant here, too, people stealing hydro wires and selling off the copper or whatever metal is inside.
Oh gee, some people have no morals at all. Hope the thieves are caught asap. Good to hear you didn't lose your food stocks, but what a pest for you. Love the shot.
Oh, how does that work, stealing cables?? Don't they get electrocuted?
Being without electricity is so difficult. All societies rely on it so much.
I like you photo though.
@summerfield they do steal it for the copper. Very inconvenient especially when you are reliant on electricity for work. @fbailey@jamibann@365projectorgjenfurj@gigiflower@littleconnie cable theft is not a rare occurrence in South Africa. It is stolen for the copper wire inside. It is dangerous and sometimes the people stealing the cables do get electrocuted.
