Fabulous! I took a few very similar shots but didn't get anywhere to close to the clarity you got. I must remember to change my ISO (having had a look at your exif details).
@kwiksilver Gillian, I think I took this using the sunset scene setting on the camera. If so it's all pretty much auto! I must say though that I do often up my ISO as I'm so lazy when it comes to getting the tripod out!
this was pretty much the view here last night, but we had a jekyll and hyde weather, one minute the sun is out and before you could blink it was pouring rain. really weird! this is nice.
Lovely evening sky! I took a shot recently and thought the star in the sky was Jupiter but upon closer inspection and internet research- it turned out to be Venus (which is also in the same area of the sky now). You should be able to get a close shot of that if you've got a zoom and you'll be able to tell. I was amazed to see that people could get pictures of Jupiter with its stripes with a point and shoot! But you'll definitely need your tripod.
