Feeding the babies by salza

Feeding the babies

The Cape Wagtail babies are growing so fast. Managed to get a picture of one of the parents bring a snack to the nest. You can see one baby with his mouth wide open another you can just see his eye peeking out. There is a third one in the nest but not visisble here. I have to be careful as the parents don't like to go to the nest to feed if anyone is close by.

I see the parent and the two little ones! This is wonderful! Time for food, baby birds!

What a fantastic thing to have in your own back yard. I'm assuming "the girls" leave them be or do you have to keep them away? Great shot!

they look as big as their parent

@olivetreeann Ann, this nest is in the swimming pool area which the girls have only limited access to. Gates are kept closed and the dogs are only allowed in if invited by one of us. We have had Wagtails nest in areas that the girls can get to but it seems that my girls are more interested in their toys than baby birds!

@francoise Francoise they have grown so fast. All three barely fit in the nest now. I imagine that within the next few days they will be learning to fly.
