The YaYa Yak girls float once more

This morning we finally were able to get out on the lake. The lake level is still 12' above normal, so paddling around was a little surreal.

Thanks so much for getting both of my photos onto the PP - so very cool to see them there.

Thanks for stopping by.
that must have been an amazing experience, lovely shot.

wow 12 feet is a lot! Did the waters go into houses and business areas? I hope everyone there is safe.

That really is high above normal. Feels so weird when the water is deeper than usual. Nice pov

Amazing! One usually hears only of lakes being many feet below normal in this drought-plagued age we live in.

@koalagardens it has put quite a toll on businesses and some people cannot get back into their homes. We haven’t been out in our boat yet because you can’t launch and too much debris still. Hopefully with the very high temps we will dry up soon

It really does look like fun! With 2 rivers in Sacramento, it is a popular sport. I only tried it once and it was in the ocean in Hawaii...a little scary and rough. Calmer waters sounds much better...pretty colors on your kayak too!

it must be a worry. but good to get out - I hope the levels drop soon.

@gardenfolk I have a rule 0-7mph winds and we will go . This lake can be like an ocean with whitecaps when weather stirs it up
