We spent quite a bit of time here… some 640 acres. It’s a beautiful area that just pops up out of the plain that apparently Daniel Boones son discovered on his way to the Santa Fe Trail. When the sun hits the mountains the Selenite shimmers like glass. So Boone said it looks like glass - so it was therefore named. Yes, I know this picture doesn’t show that… I will show you soon… I just really liked this shot.
Ack in the day a map was drawn up and they labeled it Gloss mountains - then years later they corrected it back to Glass. We saw signs that labeled it Glass or Gloss…. Funny
We had a fantastic time… hope you don’t mind if I share more photos in coming days
