This shot shows Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq (pronounced baa-haa-r itch-chak) meaning sea of pebbles or the sea where pebbles are. You can see the village of the same name in the middle of the picture and far behind it is a watch tower. This is one of the watch towers which were erected by the Knights of St John and of Malta around the whole coastline of Malta as an early warning system against marauding pirates or Turkish/Arab raids. Beyond is the blue Mediterranean. I took the shot from Madliena Heights where I went walking last Thursday.
