Another shot from Birgu. While the harbour is asleep, this lone kayaker enjoys the tranquility of a solitary paddle.
Until a few decades ago, the Grand Harbour was the main harbour of the Island. When a freeport was opened in Marsaxlokk Bay, it took over all the landing and loading of cargo activities. Today, Grand Harbour is used almost exclusively for cruise ships and yachting.
World Cup: I watched Argentina vs Nigeria and France vs Equador yesterday. Argentina and Nigeria played a great game and with 2 goals (one each) in the first 4 minutes of the match it was exciting from the start. Argentina one, of course, they had Messi with them. Chatting to the referee before going out on the pitch for the second half, the Nigerian goalkeeper said: ‘How can you hold him!!’
France and Equador was beautiful, too. The French keep improving from match to match even though the game ended in a draw.
Thank you so very much for looking and for your wonderful comments and the many fav’s on yesterday’s shot. They are all very much appreciated.
Not only the sky's light is gorgeous..but so is that subtle light that comes up from below and spreads across the architecture. Such a romantic place... mysterious
