I couldn’t take a frontal shot of the church façade because the street is narrow. But I loved this shot with all the lights, showing it off. This is the church of Sacra Cuor or Sacred Heart (of Mary) which is celebrating its annual festa this weekend.
A great goal by Higuain gave Argentina the lead in the 8th minute when a loose deflection came his way and he hit it into the net without letting the ball touch the ground. Belgium played their hearts out to get the equaliser but they rarely penetrated the strong Argentine defence. In a breakaway Higuain almost made it 2-0 when he hit the crossbar with a powerful shot.
Sorry for Costa Rica, they were so courageous and fought till the very end in an exciting game against Holland. They only succumbed at the 5th penalty of extra time. But it was lady luck that helped them during the match because the ball didn’t want into their goal earlier. At the end the best team won.
Sad for Brazil and football lovers. Their star player Neiman is out of the tournament with a fractured vertebrae.
Yesterday was the first stage of the Tour de France. Saw some wonderful scenery.
