Look closely at the main picture and see if you can see a human head in the mane.
Do you see it? No?
Then look closely at the picture on the left. Do you see it now? Still no!!!
Ok. Have a look at the picture on the right. Do you see it now?? Again no?????
My gosh, I have to rush to my doctor to have my eyes or even my brains checked.
This lion is on a Marzocco Column in Montepulciano - our second stop for the day. It symbolizes the authority of Florence over Montepulciano since 1511 when the town came under the rule of Florence and the lion replaced the Siena she-wolf.
Montepulciano is another medieval and Renaissance hill town. It sits high on a 605-metre (1,985 ft) limestone ridge. Montepulciano is a major producer of food and drink. Renowned for its pork, cheese, "pici" pasta ( I can vouch for this – I tried it, wonderful), lentils, and honey, it is known world-wide for its wine. It gives its name to the Montepulciano grape, among Italy's best.

Not sure how I missed this one - love it - the face is quite clear when you said to look for it. Tend to take in the obvious instead of looking further. Really neat!
