Actually it was two days after New Year’s Day when the sea had calmed a down bit even though it was still very windy and choppy. I saw several yachts braving the elements and I thought it was probably a race organised by the local Yacht Club. I took several shots and I liked this one best.

Joke: An old yachtsman was sitting on a bench near his beloved marina when a young man walked up and sat down next to him. The young man had just come out of the hairdresser’s with a new-look hair style. He had spiked hair and each spike was a different color.... green, red, orange, blue, and yellow.
After a while the young man noticed that the yachtsman wouldn’t stop staring at him.
"What's the matter old timer, never done anything wild in your life?
The old yachtsman replied, "Got drunk once and married a parrot. I was just wondering if you were my son!"
Thank you so much for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
Love that joke - I wish I had the courage to say something like this to these sriped youngsters! This is a lovely angle that the yacht has and it can take this wind strength - a strong boat!
How wonderful to be out there on the water like that. I like the trail of the boat in the water and the splashes of red and yellow. Have a lovely weekend Dione.
Instant fav. Great colors and composition. Love the calm blue waters and how you caught the angle of the sailboat. I never caught that film. What a fun joke.....LOL!
Great action shot This is how my husband loves to sail. I like a little more stability, but do love sailiing. He loves water over the bow. Beautiful blue water and great wind.
Thanks for the funny joke , gives me a laugh.
