We had a lovely stroll along the seafront promenade. The evening was warm and very encouraging. We came to this newly laid bridge which crosses the water that divides L-Isla from Bormla (alias Cospicua). Together with Birgu these are known as the Three Cities – small but with quite a history behind them. The bridge substitutes the drydock gates/shutters of No One Dock of the former naval dockyard. No One Dock has been transformed into a leisure area open to the public. The bridge has lights on the underside which are reflected on the still waters.
Joke: Two men crossed each other while walking across the new bridge at L-Isla. One thought he had seen the other one on the beach earlier on; he envied him for the lovely tan and asked, 'Are you brown from the sun?'
'No,' replied the other, 'I'm Smith from The Times.'
Thank you very much for looking and for all the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture. Wow, three pp's in a row - I'm so very excited and grateful to you all.
