Top two shots are from visual displays of the era of the Knights of St. John. Bottom shots record the British era. In the middle bottom is the Gloucester Gladiator named ‘Faith’ which is close to the heart of our older generations. It is a bi-plane which, together with another two similar planes, ‘Hope’ and ‘Charity’ was all the only air power stationed in Malta at the beginning of WWII. It is the only plane of the three that survived the war. Later Britain reinforced its air squadrons in Malta by sending hordes of Spitfires and Hurricanes. All the guns around the island were manned by Maltese soldiers.
We went to watch the carnival defile yesterday. Lots of colour and I took loads of photos. Hope to be able to show a few in a couple of days’ time.
Many thanks for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
It is very interesting to see how the war affected just about everyone in the entire world. You would be surprised to see the multitude of ways it affected our region and changed it forever, yet we live in a remote area.
A great collage of all beautiful pic.`s of the museum parts . Fav. Love the explanation with it.
Most of our carnival defile`s are canceled by the big storm we have now.
