A happy and blessed Easter to all my friends.
Posting from my tablet again. I prepared this image at home and emailed it ti myself to use on this occasion.
This hill is on Marsalforn, Gozo. Somebody wanted to replicate the Rio de Janeiro Christ overlooking the city. I took the shot the last time we were here. I superimposed ot onto a sinrise shot which I had taken but never used to create this image. I added the bird from another shot.
Thank you so much for looking and for your comments and fav's on yestetday's picture.
A lovely composition for Easter! Israel is actually quite safe to travel in for the most part. They are very protective of the tourist industry and if you go on a tour, the guides are all certified by Israel and are constantly checking in with the stops on your tour to make sure all is as it should be. Of the three times I was there I never felt nervous or worried about what might happen. The major areas of trouble are mostly in the far south and not where the holy sites are so if you and Christine ever have the opportunity to go you should! You would particularly love the Church of All Nations (right next to the Garden of Gethsemane) and The Church of the Holy Sepulchure- where Golgotha is located (although it's hard to see with the altar over it- but you can still place your hand upon some of the stone) and what is left of the Anatasia, the chapel which was once built over what may have been Joseph of Arimethea's tomb. I also like Tabgha- the site traditionally believed to be where Jesus fed the 5,000. Knowing your love for sacred architecture, you would certainly enjoy the Holy Land. A knowledgeable and reputable tour company would be the way to go. As I said- it's their business to keep tourists safe! And once you have been there, you will read the Bible with a whole new understanding. I hope you make it someday!
