It is quite some time since I posted a shot in mono so I tried it on this shot. Not sure which is the best: mono or colour.
This is some of the crowd waiting for the fireworks display to begin. Many Maltese people are like rabbits and they do not go out without searching for food. So apart from the many restaurants and cafes in the area, kiosks and eating/drinking stalls have been set up to gain on the Maltese appetite. You can see tables and chairs all over the place for the patrons.
About the area – the place is nicknamed ‘The Ferries’ because ferry boats have been taking people from here to Valletta for centuries and even more because many British warships used to be moored to barges in this harbour and ferries used to ply between them and the land carrying sailors to and from their ships. Today, the ferry service to Valletta and back is still there and it is the main landing place for the many boats that take tourists on all sorts of one-day (or less) cruises.
Thanks a lot for looking and for commenting and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
