Yes, the sun came up at last but for not longer than 3 seconds - it started showing on the horizon at 7.14am and was hidden behind the clouds within 3 seconds (third picture from top was taken at 7.17am). Then the only bit of sun I saw was the rays in the bottom picture which managed to penetrate through the clouds.
This is a sequence of shots I took to show it off.
Later on in the day all the clouds cleared and we were left with a scorching sun for the remainder of the day.
