Picture taken on 7th July – first day of our recent holiday.
As we strolled around Sorrento in the evening we came across this cloister of which I had already taken note when preparing information on the places we were to visit. What intrigued me was its architecture and here are two shots to show it off.
The monastery's origin dates back to the first half of the 15th century. The cloister’s architecture presents crossed arches on two sides of the portico, expressing the style of the late 1300s and on the other two sides these are replaced by round arches on octagonal pilasters.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs. Always much appreciated.
We have plenty of fresh air. Most times it`s windy.
