Shot taken some time before those I posted yesterday.
The Nationalist Party – the party that in 1964 negotiated and got independence for Malta from a British Colony – organises its own celebrations (apart from those officially organised by the state) with a mass meeting on the eve, a music concert and finally at mid-night, the raising of the Maltese flag. We left early because there was a chilly wind and we were tired.
This is a shot of the crowd before the new leader of the party made his speech. It was a good crowd, even considering the thrashing the party had at the general elections of three months previously.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
It looks you live in an area with amazing churches and buildings and lots of nice events.
