Walking along the old streets of Lija.
I had to retract my steps to look for the car in another direction. On the way I saw the door of what looked like a club half open. And that was my salvation. I went in, asked for the bathroom, used it and on the way out I asked if there was any charge. The man said “No” and I thanked him and left. And then I saw that the club was that of Lija Athletic Football Club.
I was going to pick up a conversation with the guy because in my youth, when I used to play football (soccer or footie – call it what you like) I had many encounters with his team but then I said to myself that he wouldn’t remember me so I kept my mouth shut about the matter and left.
I really love the feeling of antiquity here- the old stones and paved streets are great. Glad the club offered you some relief. I think they would have enjoyed finding out you were once a player on another team.
Great addition to this series. Thank you for the explanation in answer to my question the other day. I admire your patience to wait untill the streets are clear. Finding somewhere to relieve yourself is not easy. You were lucky to find this place.
