7th and last day of our Portugal holiday of last Easter.
The last half day of our group tour of Lisbon was a visit to Palmela Castle and this is a view from the battlements of the castle.
The Castelo de Palmela dominates the skyline close to the village of Palmela. It was part of an ancient network made up of seven control bastions located around two big estuaries whose control was so important for the economic development and the security of the kingdom. Palmela Castle, or Castillo de los Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago de la Espada, was successively conquered, destroyed and rebuilt by the Arabian and Christian troops during the turmoil of the medieval Iberanian Peninsula.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
