Dockyard Creek is one of the sheltered inlets of Malta’s Grand Harbour. Grand Harbour is quoted as one of the most beautiful harbours in the Mediterranean Sea. And this is the same yacht marina I showed two days ago. But this time I took the shot from the battlements of Fort St Angelo. Beneath the walls of the fort is Birgu and on the opposite side is Isla (also known as Senglea). The road along the Birgu seafront was used in the film The Count of Monte Cristo a few years ago.
The name of the creek confuses me because the British dockyard (now private and smaller) is in a creek further inwards but the Order of St John had its ship repair yards in this creek.
Max and I visited the Fort St Angelo after we went to the Malta Maritime Museum.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and FAV’s. They are very much appreciated.
Brilliant. Prefer this viewpoint to the previous one.....that was way too crowded for me ! This one is lovely...showing all the buildingsand river...reminds me of part of the South Bank of the Thames in Lon don.
It looks like a stunning harbour
