A little autumn hoard

Had a lovely walk this afternoon in the sunshine and went down by the station where usually I get my train. School holidays so I have a few more days this time.
I remembered Dad finding lots of conkers a few years ago when he took me down for the train and when I looked there were lots of them. They will be useful in maths activities after the holidays.
Three good things
1. M&S lasagne for lunch...so easy and we both enjoyed it.
2. Met a friend and her niece when I was walking so we all walked together and chatted lots.
3. Fresh air, snoozes and cups of tea... perfect Sunday afternoon.

Lovely picture; theme-seasons?

I learn something every day on 365. Today I learned “conkers” are the seeds of the horse chestnut tree!

Ah, haven't noticed any conkers yet - but they must be out there. Nice capture of these shiny brown nuts.

Thank you for your lovely comments.....they really are treasure items.....someone suggested planting some but they grow into such enormous trees....

I used to love finding these as a child. But there was a Chestnut blight here many years ago and most of the trees died. So sad. Lovely shot though!
