The Maiden Stone by sarah19

The Maiden Stone

One of the landmark standing stones in our area.
We drove that way this afternoon after a delicious hot drink and fine cake at The Old Post Office Tearoom ....what a treat.
It was interesting to find a new notice beside the stone encouraging us to send photos taken of the stone in order to monitor the condition of it over the summer months.
Three good things
1. Long sleep
2. Lovely former student now being ordained and covering the pastoral and preaching role for our vacant congregation. So good to have her back again.
3. A wee outing after lunch.
Wonderful pic!

I'll have to read up about the standing stones! Some prehistoric edifice! Funny how old Post Offices are turned into cafes or restaurants. We have one with a slight Portuguese influence in the architecture!

Nice shot- and now it will be part of history documenting this. It seems both artistically beautiful and somewhat mysterious.
