A good day by sarah19

A good day

In spite of the wind and rain overnight we got wrapped up and went out gardening! Allan did grass cutting and I tackled the circle....!
40 years ago this was croft land, with grazing sheep etc!! And in spite of fairly regular work, the couch grass and buttercups think they own the place. So it was hard work......a couple of hours in the morning and I was happy with the impact. But looking out at lunchtime I was disappointed that I couldn't really see the difference.....so another few hours.....and now I'm happy. From the sofa in our family room I can see the difference I made. I've possibly done a quarter of the circle but it's the part I see most. And one of the gardeners on CHELSEA garden celebration last night talked about 10 minutes in the garden every day. Perhaps I'll try that!!
Three good things
1. Not so cold....didn't need my jacket after a little while.
2. A lovely warm bubble bath after my time in the garden.
3. Delicious supper cooked by Allan and zoom chat with my sister...lots of laughs!!

Yes, it was blowing a hoolie here yesterday, and today for that matter. We did a bit of work in the garden too. It's very satisfying to see that you've made a difference. I'm sure a little every day is the way to go!
