Fifth Grade Science Fair

Well, Carolyn's got *me* convinced that we should install solar panels with her presentation and model. Not sure how well they work with snowy roofs, but honestly we use more electricity in the summer with the A/C anyway. A teeny tiny solar panel with a flashlight "sun" charges up a super capacitor enough to power two white LED lights in the Lego house for a ridiculously long time - so much so that we had to put a discharge button on the circuit so she could demonstrate it again. Imagine how much energy you get with full-sized solar panels charged by the sun?!?

And I have to brag for a minute - my 10 year old can explain every part of that circuit diagram and knows what a super capacitor is. #geekmomproud
