Peppermint Lemonade by sarahsthreads

Peppermint Lemonade

What do you do with leftover peppermint sticks from the holidays? We make peppermint lemonade. Easiest recipe ever: cut off the top of a lemon, insert peppermint stick, suck lemon juice through stick as though it were a straw.

I admit I was skeptical when we first encountered these at the Renaissance Faire last summer, but all of us (with the exception of my husband, who dislikes peppermint in general) think they're pretty tasty.

We don't usually photograph them so dramatically first - actually, food photography is generally not something I'm very good at - but it was a long and busy day followed by a dark and stormy night, so this is all I've got. At least the colors are fun!
This is a delightful photo! The colors and composition are wonderful and my lips/mouth are puckering at your description of sucking the lemon juice through the peppermint stick. :-)

This is a beautifully done piece of "food photography" . I can't wait to try it. Just need the lemon. Have the leftover peppermint sticks. Sounds delicious.

@sarahsthreads Not yet. Still need lemons, but I am surely going to. Really does sound good -- two of my favorite flavors
