Backstage Jitters by sarahsthreads

Backstage Jitters

Is it still considered backstage if you're in the school cafeteria? Anna played in her first strings concert tonight - all of the string players in the district, grades 2 - 12, played a joint concert. Each group played a short piece or two, and it ended with all 430 students playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

I love taking behind the scenes photos and capturing the excitement and nerves and potential that build up before a performance. I think I'm always going to be *that* parent, the one that volunteers to help keep order backstage, so I can keep taking my favorite kind of photos. :)
Sarah, I'm with you... I want to be there to take all the photos I can....... (I even took photos throughout my own kids weddings and receptions -- in addition to the "hired" photographer!) Love this "backstage" shot. And so glad there is still music in the schools. I played in our school bands from grade 3 or 4 through high school and college. I met my husband my first year in our high school band. Our daughter did the same as I did.... from grade 3 through high school.... Decided on a college who didn't even have a band. Bummer!

beautiful capture of those special moments before the concert starts. I always had my camera out for ballet and music concerts.
