Today I was flustered and trying to get ready in a hurry, when I unknowingly knocked my glasses onto the bathroom rug. The rug is brown and my glasses are brown and....well, you see where this is going....crunch. Both stems broken clean off! My friend took me over to the eyeglass place to order a new pair right away so that I have them before I fly off to China soon. Clearly, these are not the glasses for me. We were being a little silly while waiting for the lady to find my file. I will say though that I think my mom had a pair of these glasses in the 80s when I was growing up so it did take me back a bit.
Just proves how easy it is to judge/make assumptions about people based on their looks. Never a good thing, but we do it all the time. Don't forget to show us the "after" picture, too!
I definitely consider eye glasses a fashion statement. I can look back at photos of myself and date them immediately by the size and style of the glasses I'm wearing. Sometimes I ask myself, "what was I thinking?"
Lol! Andrew, no offense taken! We were cracking up on how much it made me look like a 80s eyeglass store ad. =) Like I said, I think mom had a pair just like those back in the 80s. I will post a picture of the real new glasses when I get them in 10 business days. Luckily, I have an old pair so I can kind of see until then. They aren't my current prescription but they are better than nothing! Denise, it is the soft focus effect on Picasa. =)
Good grief, I think I had some like this when I was a kid...ugh...hope your new ones are nice and sparkly with LOTS of rhinestones so as not to blend in.
