I Like to Think Outside the Quadrilateral Parallelogram

Well, last night and into this morning was my farewell party. Several of my friends made it out and we had a fantastic time! I got to sing with the band that was playing and I must say...I rocked the place! It was an amazing blues band and so I sang my favorite blues song from my days as the lead singer of my own band, Love Me Like a Man. Some of my classmates who only know me as Miss Hall or Sara Hall Education Students Advisory Council President were more than a bit stunned to see and hear me work the microphone. My other friends who know all the many sides of me were equally thrilled, too!
Besides all that fun we laughed, enjoyed a few drinks, and just enjoyed my last night out being silly with my friends for at least two months. My friend Katie, who shares my love of all things bedazzled and crafty, made me the cutest thing ever. It is a memory box for China that she painted and decoupaged (sp?) and then bedazzled with little jewels. On the inside is says China memories 2010 and has this verse written, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 Of course, I got all teary. I will miss my friends so much!
Here is a picture my friend took. We are always being told to think outside the box in the school of ed...so I decided to model the motto using the box Katie made me. Here I am thinking "outside the box" or as I like to call it, "Outside the Quadrilateral Parallelogram." 2.5 more days!!!
Haha...with you, it's easier to ask, "What DON"T you do?" I've always said that in my "next life" I want to come back as a blues singer, but here you are able to sing along with all your other talents! So happy you had time to relax with family and friends before you head off to China.
the thing i love best about this image is your fingernails. too cute! and i think you already think outside the quadrilateral parallelogram in more ways than one. it has been such fun getting to know you via this project. can't wait to hear/see stories from china!!
Uh, What the hell? I was sure you would have sang Stormy Monday, and I know you can belt it out! Very nice, Sara. I look forward to seeing the images from the other side of the world!
Thanks so much everyone! Karen and Allison, singing is a passion of mine that I have unfortunately had to put on hold while pursuing my other passion of teaching. I am more than ready to pick up the microphone again, though my act might have to be toned down a bit once I become a teacher. Conservative parents and school districts, and all. there may be a video posted soon of me performing and if so I will post the link.
Lindsey, I love that you noticed my hot pink nails with zebra stripes! I was a last minute fashion rebellion before I fly off to China. I will be in a professional french manicure when I step off the plane. =) YOu are right I am, and have always been, a little outside the box at all times!
Chris, Stormy Monday is a great song but Love Me Like a Man is my favorite and always a showstopper. Stormy Monday would have been my encore...I was asked for one by the audience but I think the band was ready to rock out on their own and so I declined and took my seat to cheer them on. =)
