Sunday was Homecoming at my church. It has been a big part of this community for 134 years and a very important part of my transition from living in Indy to living in my tiny town in NC. I can't explain to you what it means to be a part of a church like this when I am so far from my family. I call them my church family and they really are. they have welcomed me with opened arms and friendship, collected school supplies for my students, and have given me over 600 Box Tops for my school, and embraced me every Sunday with warm welcomes and caring questions about my students and family. They are amazing people and I am blessed to be a member of their congregation. Nothing takes the place of being with my mom and dad, but having them makes being away from my parents more bearable. They are a big piece of putting my puzzle together down here and figuring out more of God's purpose for me in this life.
Wonderful technique to express your meaning. I think it is wonderful that you found each other. God was definitely working the day you walked through the doors.
