First, thank you all for the well wishes and concern from my fall on the ice yesterday. It's good to have a hard head I guess -;).
This AM it was snowing hard when I took this and I was being extra careful. I wrapped a thick towel around the hood of my jacket as added cushion as I didn't want to risk a 2nd head injury in 24 hours. A Washington, DC police officer with the Homeland Security Division stopped me. I was certain it was because of my strange attire but he wanted to show me his iPhone photo of a fox he just saw running across the frozen Potomac. Unfortunately I never saw the fox but had to laugh.
It's such a shame that that's our first thought these days, isn't it. That was pretty smart thinking to make a possible cushion! Love the shot - you usually think of this with cherry blossoms - far cry today!
A beautiful wintery photo of the Jefferson Memorial... can't wait to those tree branches are dressed in cherry blossoms! Glad you are taking precautions out in this icy weather.
You've framed this beautifully (fav!), and I, too, am glad you're ok. I love the unexpected interactions that come about as a result of our cameras - it makes life much more interesting. Take care of yourself down there!
love the story. any policeman makes me search (for) my guilty conscience. what I like about this picture is that it's such a classic scene and yet the picture of it is so fresh and new.
