@amfrumbiddivurd Thanks for commenting. Would love to be with my two children in London at this stage. Bloemfontein is the capital city of the province Free State. On the way from Johannesburg to Cape Town on the main route.
He has a most intent expression and you captured it nicely. Just read your bio...and wish for constructive comments. A bit more contrast might enhance the details here.
@aikimomm His, might be her name is Stoffel. That is a common name in Afrikaans, When I bought him in the petshop the persone who took him out of the cage sais: "Come along Stoffel"and that is where he got his name. He can say his name to.
@maggiemae Glad to share this photo. Yes he is close. Only sleeps in a cage at night time.. During the day he sits on branches on a special table. There he will talk all day. I am the only one he allows to handle. At night time he will call and say: " Stoffel want to sleep". That he only says at sleeping time. He then climbs on my hand and allows me to take him to the cage. Unfortunately these birds only accept one person as the "leader". Although he speaks in my husbands voice. He sometimes call me: "Sylvia bring the food, bring the food" He calls my daughter and grandchild in the UK also. Nobody taught him that. Staying at home and with my husbands illness he a a great "friend" He use to go with me to work every day, till I stopped working in 2014. He was in his cage, in July 2014 next to me on the passenger seat, when I was in a car crash. Escaped without getting hurt.
Wow, that is pretty hot. Great shot. It was 26 degrees C here today and it's supposed to be winter time! First time I've ever been tempted to Christmas shop in shorts and t-shirt. Usually, It's below freezing.
Terrific photo! And very interesting background you mentioned in a comment reply. 38 is definitely hot....is that very much above normal temps for this time of year?
