This last week seems to be very sad. Good things also happen, we should just look around. After a very dry summer this dam, at the gate, was empty. This morning full after last nights rain. We had 30 mm which is very good for a fall in wintertime.
It's so heartening that you have this positive attitude to the last Tuesday. And you are quite right that there are always good things to find. I like the pov of your shot. Bon courage!
I read this below on your page now. How true. Thanks for sharing.
from Caitlin Moran, journalist:
"You will never, in your life, ever have to deal with anything more than the next minute.....The minutes always come one at a time, inside hours that come one at a time, inside days that come one at a time - all orderly strung, like pearls on a necklace, suspended in a graceful line. You will never, ever, have to deal with more than the next 60 seconds. Do the calm, right thing that needs to be done in that minute. The work, or the breathing, or the smile. You can do that, for just one minute. And if you can do a minute, you can do the next."
from Julian Schnabel, artist & film-maker:
"Life is just about breath. There's no past; there's no future; there's just the eternal present. We can get lost in trying to name things. It's about relationships and conversations with people who care about you".
Such meaningful words in the quotes, one step at a time and slowly things will become clearer. Glad you had some decent rain fall, I remember earlier this year you had so many problems with lack of rain.
Hi, Sylvia, I'm your Get Pushed partner again this week. For your challenge, I would like for you to take an ordinary, every day item that you use and photograph it in an unusual way, kind of like Eye of the Beholder, and add some ETSOOI (editing) to it to make it beautiful. Have fun. Hope things start looking up. The world has been a rather crazy place lately.
Ik ben niet zo goed in het zeggen van helpvolle dingen. Maar ik leef met U mee. Veel sterkte gewenst. ``Het heeft nog nooit zo donker geweest of het werd altijd wel weer licht. ``
I also was quite moved by the quotes that you posted above and am saving them as good reminders. I hope that your future is filled with blessing, and that all reasons for sadness will be removed!
I can only echo what others have said - the quotes are such a wonderful post for all of us to focus on personally and on an international basis in these troubled times. I'm committing that to memory. On a different side, I'm glad to see your good news in photo - and to see your work.
Nice shot of the full water. I find it amazing that you are posting wise words that we find encouraging when you are the one that should be encouraged by our words. You are a remarkable lady, Sylvia
