For more than 2 months I did get a signature of "somebody" visiting my front door at night time. HUGE white marks. I tried to see who the visitor was. No luck, till today. The photo was taken through a window. There he was sitting on the top of a pine/Xmas tree. Owning the place. If I had to go outside with crutches he would be there no more. Why he chose my place I do not know. We do not live near water. Ok next....how do I find him a new sleeping place. I already fixed spikes on parts where he use to sit at night. It is a costly project. The only other thing that help is hanging cd's on a iron frame. This I do not want to continue because it looks like a "disco" outside with all the cd's shining in the sun.....
I like the Schwarzkopfreiher. beauty before mess. hope you find somehow to fix it. can you put a shoe matte on the spot. easy to lift and rinse off. fav.
I am sure he was an aggravation to you but I looked up what a heron can symbolize at this site https://mysticurious.com/what-does-heron-symbolize and see that most of that applies to you! Therefore I am certain that he chose your place because of all of those characteristics. This is a superb photo of him, Sylvia
@grammyn All I can say is Thank you for the info. This is why 365 means such a lot to me. We learn all the way and build friendships miles apart. I realy appreciate this a lot and will share with my children in the UK as well.
It is 1.35 am here. Suppose to sleep.....If you can't what better thing to do? Look at 365 photos. Will be sleep time at your place soon. Enjoy a good nights rest.
Beautiful bird! It is very difficult to persuade them to find a new home. We had the same trouble with pigeons building a nest above our front door. I called a professional and they suggested putting spikes all over our roof for $$$$. We did not do it. Good luck!
@gardenfolk I am not going to spend more on spikes at this stage. I will be moving to town soon. Hope he brings me lots of luck before I leave. Ha ha and some photos to. We do not see him during daytime. Suppose he only sleeps here.

Yes, they can be pests, they used my fish pond as their private reserve.
