Packed a picnic lunch and a little gas cooker to make hot coffee, and took a drive to the nearest mountains today, to look for snow capped mountains to photograph. Only to find the snow had already melted! This shot was taken specifically to include the dam on the left in the valley. Almost no water in it despite the rain and dusting of snow that has melted. The scientists have said it will take 3 years of average rainfall to fill the dams, so we can only hope for more rain and snow this winter.
Wow, what an amazing view! I have no doubt the precipitation will come back, eventually. Be careful what you wish for. :) We had the worst drought on record last year and have had way, way too much rain this spring.
